Ask Megan Wednesdays: Man Gifts

As the leaves are changing and cooler weather is approaching (well at least in Northern Michigan). Apple cider is by the gallons and pumpkin donuts are no longer being avoided, I believe it is fall. So as I promised we will be beginning some new series on the blog such as “Ask Megan Wednesdays” I have some questions that have built up and am anxious to begin answering them.

If you have any questions feel free to email them to me at [email protected] and I will begin researching and get them for you on here πŸ™‚

So this week I thought with Christmas just under 100 days away and many birthdays and other gatherings that happen around that time let’s deal with one of the hardest most difficult things as a girl…buying something for your guy.

I got a question from my good friend Kirbie the other day wondering what to get for her boyfriend Jeff for their one year. Jeff is in school studying medicine so he is a pretty smart guy and knows what he wants. So Kirbie is looking to find something that is unique, manly, and something he wouldn’t necessarily buy for himself.

I know this is a dilemma I reach every year with Mike and struggle to pick something out. I have had some success and probably some failures in the few years we have dated, been engaged, and got married. But today I thought I would give some great options for gifts not only for Kirbie but also a lot of us women out there that have no idea what to get our guy.

(Clockwise from top left corner) 1. Military Jacket 2. Timex Military watch 3. Wood log dock 4. Old fisherman box 5. The Essential satchel 6. Wool Cardigan 7. The Sure to turn heads bike 8. Bamboo Iphone Case 9. The I love Fall Sperry 10. Macbook Wool Case 11. South America Map

Any of these items would just make a guy pretty pumped but for Kirbie I think for a one year anniversary I would do something a little more intimate. I believe I would get him a very cool weekend bag from Fossil or another cool men’s store and pack it with everything for a trip to do something he loves maybe we drive out into the country for fishing and a picnic or for a weekend get away. Whatever it may be. Then write a note saying how much he means to you (guys don’t always need a lot of this like we do) but tell him the plan in the note and go. A plan to make memories. But he still gets a sweet bag out of the deal πŸ™‚

Hope this helps Kirbie and anyone else trying to decide on what to do for that awesome guy in your life.

I can personally testify (as I have received most of these things as gifts- including a map of south America) that they do indeed make thoughtful, creative gifts. good call megs!
