I
don’t read too often. I think College burnt me out and the only books I have been motivated enough to read in the past two years have been novels and anything that takes very little thought process simply because I like reading to calm myself.

But since falling head over heels for my husband he has challenged me to read books that are all about being informed. Before he perplexed me why he read books by Malcolm Gladwell simply because you have to retain information or at least feel like you should.

This has all begun to change for me as I dive deeper into the industry. Not only are there incredible books written by people that know the industry well but they are just gorgeous books to have on your shelf and to me that is a win win.

So as the weather begins to change to Fall these are the books I am placing on my reading list.

Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,

A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
