Happy Place

Finding a happy place is pretty awesome. It may be snuggled under the covers on a cold snowy day and choosing work the morning in bed….so nice right?! or maybe an actual physical place. No matter where it is it is the place where you feel at rest and maybe even home.

There are many things and places I could call a “happy place” and different seasons bring about different ideas of this. When it is so snowy the best place for me is cuddled up by the fireplace drinking tea and reading through my favorite blogs or listening to a record. Kind of one of the most pleasant things in the world at the moment.

Sometimes when I am at a desk and it’s a little chilly I think of that seems to keep me chugging.

Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,

A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
