Back from our little excursion. Unfortunately we did not get to sail BUT we got to go to beach, run through the water, and stopped for a little snack (as in sparkling wine and lavendar shortbread) on our way home. Now I am off to chop the hair and die it blonde. Wish me luck!!

Tonight we are headed down town to share a blanket with our friends Bryan and Mae and watch the Empire Strikes Back out in the Open Space by the water in Traverse City. It is part of the Film Festival this week there is a free movie every night on a giant screen. Pretty cool and best part is it is free! I love summer and couldn’t ask for a better day. Have I gotten a lot done? Not really but that late nights are for.

Till tomorrow friends!

Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,

A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
