I know this is going to sound crazy to you all but I have NEVER seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Insane right?! Well I finally did it last night. I got to choose the movie last night (instead of the boys…husband and roommate). I was super excited cause I have just fallen in love Audrey Hepburn lately and am wondering what I would have been like if I had grown up on her in my teenage years. She is so poised, classically dressed, and just beautiful.
But while watching the movie I was completely inspired by how well the story was written and composed for its time. I could imagine the color boards that were created for each scene and shot. I was so inspired by the detail in the film and I think I need to watch it about 10 more times. It is a total gem and I feel very inspired by it at the moment. Also I want her Apartment and Apartment building haha.
I also wondered if this movie could be recreated and we all decided it could not be remade simply because there is no one who could outshine Audrey Hepburn. But I think if there was someone and they did a modernized version of the film I would say Natalie Portman. Can you see it? I think I can. I love it and it made me want a cat, which is so not me. But for Inspired Now I thought this would be perfect.
Hope you all are finding ways to stay warm cause I know it’s even kind of cold in Florida and if it is cold there than you know it is REALLY cold anywhere north of them.
Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,
A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
