I hope today is a relaxing and wonderful time of remembering the good times of this wonderful summer. Today I am choosing to work a little to keep up with the load but I am doing it with a relaxed mind as this weekend was full of getting things done, organizing, and other things that honestly probably don’t sound relaxing but to me (someone who has to stay busy) I felt things were off the list and as a result made me less stressed.
Today in Traverse is chilly and honestly a real reminder of the cool days ahead. Am I excited?! Are you kidding me I love layering and boots so bring on the Fall weather that’s in the top 5 reasons I live in Northern Michigan.

Happy Labor Day friends! I hope you find time today to laugh deeply, drink well, eat fresh picked veggies, and feel the grass between your toes.

Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,

A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
