I have always been a big fan of photography and how great photographers can snap one shot and translate a whole moment without a word. The photographers I gasp at are the ones who do work that steers from the traditional and into something that feels more like art. So when I came across Max Wanger’s work I couldn’t help but fall in love with the colors, the negative spaces, and how his work felt so wise (kind of a weird word to use but the best I can think of). He captures people and moments in the most artistic way I have seen out there.
He does work with Bando and other super cool businesses. He shoots weddings, life, and pure love. And you must check out he and Margeaux’s super cool wedding (see their whole wedding here, here, here, here, and here) shot by Our Labor of Love, styled by the one and only Ashley Meaders, and Rifle designed their adorable invites. Need I say more about why he is so inspiring. When you find one inspiring person you are sure to find many others right next to them. Artists surround themselves with other artists.
Not only do I have his blog in my reader but his so called “Leftovers” blog as well and even what is left after a shoot is beautiful. So make sure to check out his work and even his shop.
Happy Monday friends!

Hello! I’m Megan Gilger,
A strong believer that nature and the seasons are our greatest teachers. We live on a hill in Leelanau County, Michigan just a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan. This land we are responsible for is where we are focused on building a life around the seasons and intention. We spend our days here building a regenerative model of living and focusing our garden on native plants and intensive polyculture planting styles. My focus is less on self-sufficiency and more on community-sufficiency through how we grow and connect through the seasons.
