Paris Type – 16 Days

Okay Okay I am working on posts for Italy tonight and before I jumped over in that direction I have one last Paris post. I am not sure who of you have caught on but while I was in Paris I secretly challenged myself to create different type for the 16 days we were in Paris. I thought it would be really cool to let the city inspire me typographically and it did not disappoint. I wanted to share it all with you today before we moved past Paris and in to the 2nd leg of our trip. I thought you all would enjoy seeing all the type in one post side-by-side.

Catch the whole trip and all the posts here.

  1. This is a beautiful marriage of beautiful photos and handwritten type. Love this! I just went to Paris/ Belgium/ Italy in Sept 2012. I’m just now getting the time to edit the photos. Seeing these posts makes me want to go back, especially to discover these great lil places you found. Looking forward to seeing your next travel adventure! Happy 2013!

  2. Alex and I have so enjoyed reading along and living vicariously through you on your journey to some of our favorite places. These type faces are truly beautiful — so inspiring. Having played with hand drawing a bit ourselves gives me an appreciation of just how talented you are. Keep it up!

  3. Hi,

I’m discovering your blog b this entry.
I live in Paris, and have been for a while, but this post and pictures and design is amazing! I’m almost rediscovering the city.

This must be the most photographed place in the world but you really did put your spin on it. I love it.

So I leave you know to go see the rest!

  4. This comment is long, looong overdue. But in a nutshell: I’ve been eating up all of your travel aboard posts and keep coming back for more helpings! So good. And dude, killing it on the type. Really, really killing it.

    1. Hi Lorina! Thanks for the love. No I do not have them for sale as I strictly make them up on the fly. They are all hand done other than from time to time you will see me sneak in typefaces from Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Thanks for following along!!
