Back in January I was asked to attend a meeting with Cory of Cory Weber Photography and Alicia of A Day in May Events. I had no idea what that little meeting would lead to and I still sometimes look at all this and wonder whatever got me there, but they presented an amazing opportunity to me to be apart of their project they wanted to launch this fall called Simply Blue Weddings.
Their idea was to launch a premiere wedding resource for brides that were looking to do their weddings in Northern Michigan. They also wanted to encourage education of the area and create healthy competition of the best vendors in our area. As Michigan people we believe in keeping it local and helping one another. So many brides that get married here bring in vendors from other places so we want to make it clear that everything they need is here.
So as I sat their sipping my coffee at the meeting my head starts spinning with ideas and I knew right away I couldn’t turn down this opportunity. Knowing the style they were going for I knew this was the perfect project for me. But I had no idea what I was signing up for.
The last months since then have been a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and hard moments of decision making but I have to say that I feel incredibly lucky to be apart of this incrediable project with such a great team of people including Epicure Catering, Marla Courtney Wood Floral, and all the other awesome people who have teamed up at certain times to make this all happen.
I wouldn’t have done this any other way and am so glad I took the leap of faith. So if you wonder why I have been slightly absent this has been why. My days leading up to this have been full of blog posting, photo uploading, designing Media Packets, Designing invitations, business cards, logos, and consulting.
