Today is the first day of September. Already we have gotten a taste of what fall has ahead of us. Here in Northern Michigan, the days have been chillier than any day we have had this summer. Though I doubt we have seen the last of the warm days of summer, it has become very clear that the days and weeks of summer are drawing to a close.
Watching the edges of the leaves turn I have been reminded that this is a pivotal point in the rotation of the year. September is a time of transition in so many varying ways. This is when we get back to routines with school, daily life, work, and more. It is the calm before the final parts of the year and a season of holidays.Typically we are traveling less and settling in this time of year. I find that September is a good month to set very clear intentions for the rest of your year and to make adjustments in parts of ourselves that maybe have gotten off track. The craziness of summer and all the demands of we find in our lives these last few months are fading now in a way that if you are like me are fondly welcomed. We begin this month knowing we have exactly 12 weeks before Thanksgiving. An important 12 weeks we can do a lot with whether it be setting new habits, eating better, working on personal projects, etc. 12 weeks can change so much in your world if we are purposeful with it.
September marks the beginning of the end of the year. This month we will enjoy the last day of summer (September 22nd) and we will turn our clocks backward to accommodate the changing light of the day. We will watch as the leaves begin to change color and offer our last beautiful show before they fall and wait to be covered by blankets of snow. Fall is the last vibrant breath and dance of nature before she tucks herself in beneath the quiet of winter.September is when we both say goodbye to the wildness of summer days and open our arms to the beautiful comforts of fall. Truly a month of Transitions to say the least. This is why this month we will talk about transitions in our lives and making the most of these moments in our lives.
September is when we both say goodbye to the wildness of summer days and open our arms to the beautiful comforts of fall. Truly a month of Transformations to say the least. This is why this month we will talk about Transformation in our lives and making the most of transformational seasons we find throughout our journey.
Each month of the year has a lesson to teach us. Each has a memory to bring us. Most of all though each month offers us a time of reflection and growth. September is typically a big one. Possibly bigger than most. Many times we can miss what September has to offer us because of the transformation and routine we are settling into. This year we don’t plan to miss it. We plan to be aware and purposefully looking for it.
This next week we will send out our Monthly Newsletter and the following week you will also receive the email for Fall. I am waiting longer than normal on our seasonal email just because I know it is hard to let summer come to a close and I do not want to let it go too quickly myself, but fall is another amazing season we have the chance to experience.
So, a friendly reminder that if you aren’t signed up for our Monthly and Seasonal email to do so. I know many people do not want to receive the daily emails, but we would love for you to experience our Monthly and Seasonal emails as we feel it is a major part of our Intentional Seasons. Each month we share 5 things to be doing this month, previews of our upcoming posts, highlights of the last month, and welcome our monthly contributor. In our Seasonal emails, we offer up a lot of great things and help you prepare yourself for the upcoming season. This is all exclusive content we do not ever share here on TFE. Also, if you are already a subscriber, we always love to hear from you. Feel free to respond to the email and I receive these.
