In 2016 our home posts took a wide conversation. We finished up some projects in our home in Raleigh and began dreaming of the future of our new home we will be building throughout 2017 and 2018. We also had a couple great home features in the process. This next year we have much more home conversations planned, but I wanted to share just a few of our tops one, beginning with the above image from our Master Bathroom update we made to our Raleigh home.
Just a few months back I created our holiday garland and shared an awesome DIY to make it yourself. I have already heard from many of you how much you enjoyed this DIY. So glad!!
We updated our back deck at our Raleigh home with At Home and it was a huge hit on Pinterest this year. Such a simple and relaxed space that at times I do miss that little porch.
The one series we began in 2016 in the home section was Building Home. This next year we will be building our dream home in Leelanau county where we will establish our family and our farm in the place that brings us complete happiness. There are already a few posts, but you can find the one where we talk about starting our plans here.
One of my favorite home tours we did this year was of our friend’s Airbnb rental in Leelanau County. This little modern cabin in the woods is so dreamy.
The one room that meant the most to me in 2016 was our nursery for Hayes. When we left our home in Raleigh, I had the hardest time saying goodbye to the room we welcomed Hayes home into. Nothing like leaving rooms that hold such precious and delicate memories but I am so glad we captured it all.
Right before Hayes was born Mike wanted to give me the present of updating our kitchen cabinets to be the white I had wanted them to be. It was my birthday present and it was completed just 3 weeks before we welcomed Hayes home. I still love how it updated the space so easily and quickly.
Lastly, since moving to Michigan we have been staying at a friend’s lovely little renovated farmhouse and enjoying living minimally in this process of beginning building our dream home. I talked about how we made our bedroom this winter a little cozier with Huckberry.
What home stories did you love this year?
