This weekend really was pretty awesome. We got to spend some great time with friends who have been traveling the globe for the past year and working in Thailand at an orphanage. To hear their stories and to get a glimpse in to the life they are living is so humbling and inspiring. It was exactly what I needed to hear this weekend. That time with them left me so refreshed and more grateful for what I have and that is just a wonderful feeling.
Not only was having friends in town wonderful but it also meant we got to do a little sight seeing, which is always fun! Traverse City has so many amazing places and picking and choosing can be hard. This week inspired me to begin thinking about creating a list of must-see places in Traverse and Northern Michigan. Would any of you be interested?
I thought it would be fun for any of you wanting to make the trip. It truly is an amazing summer destination to say the least. Now that summer is here I am remembering all over again the things I love so much about this area. Every corner is another fresh fruit stand and you could eat local berries till your belly hurts. People here have found a way to walk the line between working and living and I believe that is most evident in these warm months when you see so many enjoying the water, hiking, and touring their way through the vineyards and orchards.
All that makes me ready for the weekend all over again!!!
